CherisHer Deep Dives is a series within More Than a Maternity Appointment that takes a closer look at the experiences, questions and wider influences that can shape pregnancy, birth, maternity care and motherhood for Black women.

Each Deep Dive explores a different subject, ooking beyond what happens on the surface to consider the woman, her lived experience, her culture, the people around her and the systems she may be navigating.

That might mean exploring communication and feeling heard. The relationship between women and maternity professionals. Culture and identity. Inequality. Expectations of motherhood. The pressures facing maternity services. Or the quieter experiences that don't always make it into conversations about care.

There won't always be one simple answer.

Instead, CherisHer Deep Dives creates space to look closer, consider different perspectives and ask the questions that help us understand the bigger picture.

Because maternity is about more than what happens at an appointment.
